10. Twitter Campaigns

A Twitter campaign is useful for announcing new content or useful information. Twitter is not very useful for pushing products or services as Twitter network users generally see this as spam and will ignore such promotions. On the other hand, if you are pushing useful or valuable information then Twitter can become an excellent traffic source.

One common use of Twitter is to announce your latest blog post. Adding the Twitter retweet widget to your blog will allow other readers to see how many times your blog post has been re-tweeted. This is "social proof" and will entice other readers to re-tweet your content outside of the Synnd network.

Use your imagination, there are many ways to use Twitter to your advantage but be careful of pushing products or "selling" through your re-tweets.
